Q: Why is Satan called the “father of lies”?
Father of lies means he is the master of lies, the lord of lies, which means no one does it better. It means he became who he is and remains who he is by lying. Whoever lies does so to deceive and to hide the truth. This is what Satan does, he covers the truth, tells half-truths, mixes truth with lies, creates alternate knowledge, and creates doctrines on every matter (spiritual and otherwise) to blind people from the light of the truth, to keep them in chains of ignorance and bondage.
