Why is Satan Often Depicted with Horns and a Tail?
Q: Why is Satan often depicted with horns and a tail?
The Bible also paints a picture of Satan as the red dragon with horns and a tail, Revelation 12:3-4. Both the biblical dragon and the media’s common picture of a red man with horns and tail paint the picture of a dangerous and ferocious being. That doesn’t mean that the media has done a good job in always painting Satan with horns and a tail because we learn from God’s Word that he is a beautiful being, and can even transform into an angel of God to deceive people, Ezekiel 28:12, 2 Corinthians 11:14.
